WhatsApp will let users add three participants in call, feature spotted on Android beta

WhatsApp beta for Android has been updated with a new feature that lets people add up to three participants in a group call. The new feature would mean that a total of four people, including the person who started it, would be part of this group call. According to a report in WABetaInfo, a fan site that tests new WhatsApp features, the feature is available for Android beta version 2.18.39.
It is unclear whether the ability to add participants has been spotted for voice call or video call on WhatsApp. The report claims the feature will available for everyone in the future, though an exact timeline is not known.  WhatsApp group voice calls feature was spotted on the 2.17.70 beta WhatsApp update, in October last year. It was earlier reported that the Facebook-owned messaging app was working on a group voice call option as well and could release the feature this year. Facebook already has a similar feature on Messenger.

BSNL Rs. 1,099 Recharge Pack Gives Unlimited Data, Calls for 84 Days

To counter Jio’s run in the Indian telecom market, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a new ‘KOOL’ offer for prepaid subscribers. Under this offer, BSNL prepaid customers will get unlimited data access, unlimited voice calls (home and roaming), 100 SMSes per day, and free access to Personalised Ring Back Tone (PRBT) with a validity of 84 days at Rs. 1,099. This gives the BSNL offer an effective price of Rs. 13 per day. Available across all BSNL circles in India, this offer is unique compared to other packs from telecom operators, including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, that have daily or monthly limits. However, it should be noted that BSNL is still offering 3G speeds in most regions, while the rival telcos can deliver 4G speeds. The state-owned operator has 4G operations in only Kerala circle.
“We are committed to provide affordable and efficient services to our esteemed customers. BSNL introduced KOOL offer for Rs. 1,099 suitable for all segment of society and empowers family & friend to be in touch,” said R.K. Mittal, Director, BSNL Board.
BSNL had last month increased validity for several unlimited prepaid packs. Packs with tariffs of Rs. 186, Rs. 187, Rs. 349, Rs. 429, Rs. 485, and Rs. 666 now have validity increased by up to 50 percent. With the new update, the state-owned telecom operator now offers validity up to 129 days and up to 1.5GB of data.
Earlier this year, BSNL had also launched a new offer providing new GSM subscribers with 2GB of free mobile data on switching to its network. This promotional offer was stated to be based on the Indian government’s Digital India initiative.
Separately, BSNL recently extended its free Sunday calls benefits for landline and broadband subscribers for the next three months.

How to link your phone number to Aadhaar

Here is how you can link your phone number to Aadhaar
Aadhaar has now become an important document not only to register your identity and avail the government’s social security schemes but also for financial matters like filing tax returns, opening a bank account or keeping your bank account active and so on.
There are many benefits of linking your mobile number to your Aadhaar. You can e-verify the income tax return using your Aadhaar number wherein an OTP is sent to the linked mobile number. You can easily update your personal details online using your linked Aadhaar by entering an OTP sent to your mobile number. The copy of e-Aadhaar can also be downloaded where in verification is required to be done via OTP send to your linked mobile number.
There are other advantages of linking your mobile number to Aadhaar too.
In order to link your mobile number with Aadhaar, there is a possibility of the below two scenarios:
1. You are linking your number it for the first time
2. You have changed your mobile number and want to update your Aadhaar data by replacing the old number with the new contact number.
Steps involved to link your mobile number to Aadhaar for the first time are mentioned below:
This need to be completed offline. Almost all the online transactions are authenticated via OTP (one-time-password) wherein the OTP is sent to the registered mobile number. Obviously, online authentication is not possible in this case as you are going to link your mobile number for the first time. In order to do this offline you need to follow these steps:
Firstly you need to get the Aadhaar Update/ Correction Form. You can either visit the Aadhaar centre or download the form from the UIDAI website.
Fill out the form properly; submit it to the concerned person at the centre and mention on the form that only mobile number needs to be added.
While submitting the Aadhaar update form, along with photocopy of your Aadhaar card you also need to submit a photocopy of your Identity proof document such as PAN Card, Passport and Voter ID card.
Post submission your biometrics will be verified at the enrolment centre. If you remember, while applying for Aadhaar your biometrics were recorded and to authenticate the changes, they needs to be verified.
Once the bio-metrics are verified, you will be given an acknowledgement slip. Usually it takes 2-5 working days for the updation process to happen but as per the UIDAI helpline the completion time for the updated is 10 days.
Below is the process described to update your mobile number online:

If you wish to update your mobile number on your Aadhaar online, you need to make sure that your existing mobile number is very much working and handy before you go for the online update. The reason behind this is, the OTP to authenticate the updation would be sent to your existing number you wish to change. Please note, the new mobile number will be updated only after the OTP sent on your old number is submitted.
There is an option on the UIDAI website under the Aadhaar Update tab, clicking upon which the user will be redirected to the Aadhar Self-Service portal.
There you need to enter your Aadhar number and the Captcha text to request for OTP.
The OPT will be sent to your existing mobile number and after submitting it you’ll be redirected to a new page, where you can update the required details.
Under ‘Select field(s) to update’, select ‘Mobile Number’
Now enter your new mobile number that you want to record in the database and proceed to submit.
